GROUP PUP & DOG CLASSES

 Tips for Training

This is Nora and King, they are Great Pyrenees pups who I have had the pleasure of working with recently in a few private training sessions. They are already learning basic obedience skills (come, sit, stay, walking on a leash without pulling), but are being trained to be guard protection animals on a farm.

At the time this photo was taken they were only eight weeks old. So, why work with pups so young? Because, as a dog owner, you could very possibly be sparing yourself huge behavioral issues later on that can be costly, painful, or even deadly. Puppy play, socialization, and obedience training all go hand in hand to help your puppy develop into a mature, strong, and healthy dog.

My blog, talks about the importance of this as well as how critical family dog training is. By getting everyone in the home involved in training the puppy or dog, the process goes much smoother. We offer group puppy/dog classes in the early spring and fall for everything from basic obedience to more advanced classes in pet therapy and service dog work. There is a limit of just 10 pups and dogs per class. Sign Up Here.

We work with dog owners every day who have rescued a dog, adopted a dog, or have purchased a dog from a breeder only to find that the pup/dog has behavioral issues, fear or aggression. We travel all over Michigan doing in home dog training so these pups and dogs can stay in their home and won't have to be put down. 99% of the time we can retrain dogs that are fearful or aggressive. Many times we also house runaway or abandoned dogs, work to find their homes, foster homes, sometimes train them, and then find the a good furever home if no one claims them.

It is because of funding and support from people like you that we too can keep training dogs and rescuing needy and abused people and pets. Please visit our events page, speaking page, dog training page and our donations page for more information how you can help or get the help you need for yourself, your family, your dog, or even your community!

 Turning Failures Into Accomplishments

Turning Failures Into Accomplishments
I've had many accomplishments in life. I've been nominated for various positions, received numerous awards, and have even won contests. YET, I have also failed at many things. When I first began writing, all I received were rejection letters (on my first book) for FIVE long years. The first time I took my GED test I failed it big time.I had panic and fear so badly I couldn't go shopping, I stoppe...

 The 9 Worst GMO Foods

The 9 Worst GMO Foods
With the new year, for many of us, comes plans to live a healthier lifestyle. A great deal of us will seek to exercise and change our diets. I probably spend more time reading labels at the grocery store than I do anything else. Why? Why would I care what goes into my body? For one thing I have extreme allergies. I also have gluten sensitivities, GERD, respiratory problems, and earlier last yea...

 7 Ways to Conquer Stress

7 Ways to Conquer Stress
In I Peter 5:7 it says, "Cast all your anxiety on Him for He cares for you." God wants us to be free from anxiety. Anxiety is really stress that has turned to worry. Stress attacks us on a daily basis. Whether we have pressure on the job or with family matters, stress can build up and tear everything in our lives down that we've worked so hard for. God doesn't want us...

 My Dream Dog!

My Dream Dog!
My Dream Dog I’d been having a dream about getting a female dog for our anti-bullying program. We already had Snickers, a small male Jack Russell mix, we rescued and adopted off the streets six years earlier. He was phenomenal! After only ten days of training he passed his Canine Good Citizen Test and became a Certified Pet Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs International. He also cau...

 Turn Your Crappy Day Into A Happy Day

Turn Your Crappy Day Into A Happy Day
How One Single Mom Turned a Crappy Day Into a Happy Day Tonya was already to go. Everything loaded in her Ford Escape. This time she wouldn’t be late for service dog training. Then it happened. It wasn’t the normal, forgetting the keys or the hundred other things she usually forgot. It was David, her precious son. She knew that face—he was filling his britches...

 Paws to Help

Paws to Help
When my dogs need help, they come running to me. And my kids, when they were little, they used to do the same thing. But, as we grow, we humans tend to think we can do it all on our own. Too many times, we wait until we fall flat on our faces to get the help we need. We like to be strong, independent individuals, so we can say "I did it--aren't you proud of me?". Although ...
