12 Things PAWS Have Taught Me
12 Things P.A.W.S. Have Taught Me
1-- A runaway, abused dogs paws led me to discovering these P.A.W.S.
P- Praise God first in every situation
A- Ask for His guidance
W- Wait on His answer
S- Seek His Plan for Healing in that Situation
God used a set of paws to enlighten my path spiritually and show me the way to physical healing, emotional healing, sexual healing, financial healing, and spiritual healing. My newest book, PAWS for HEALING, is my inspirational true story of how God led me to adopt an abused, runaway dog I didn't want, and how that dog healed me, everyone in my family, and multitudes of others. Each chapter in the book focuses on one life principle and is a pathway for others to receive their healing too.
2- PAWS to RESCUE-- Sometimes we think we are rescuing someone, when really God's using them to rescue us! I resuced a dog I tried to throw away, bottom line is, God used him to rescue me!
3- PAWS to SAVE-- Sometimes we think there is only one way to save our family or ourselves, when God uses multiple ways--even a dog we may have never wanted. In this chapter our newly adopted dog alerts me to my son being critically ill and saves his life!
4- PAWS in CRISIS-- Sometimes when things look the most critical, God is providing a healing through an avenue you would have never dreamed--even through a runaway, abused dog!
5- PAWS for HOPE--Sometimes we lose hope when we are being attacked in every facet of life (physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially) In this chapter in our lives our son nearly dies, my husband's factory closes, and our bills are over the roof, yet with God there is always hope for the hopeless! God someone always makes a way!
6-- PAWS to BELIEVE-- Sometimes we tend to believe only what's smack dab in front of us. God wants us to believe the impossible. He wants to do the unimaginable. In this chapter our critically ill son refuses to give up, perseveres even when doctors give him little hope and gets well enough to fulfill his wildest dreams!
7- PAWS to RECEIVE-- Sometimes we're battling tougher demons, like the ones Jesus' disciples couldn't cast out in the Bible. We were tested beyond belief in this chapter when our youngest son had a demonic oppression, but throughout the weary battle we hung on and persevered. We learned that if we keep standing on faith long enough we will receive all that we've been asking for.
8- PAWS for PROTECTION-- Sometimes we can be overprotective when it comes to our loved ones. After my daughters sexual abuse by her biological father I had huge trust issues and I became controlling and overprotective. Thankfully, God delivered me in time and showed me that He is our protector, and He is where we need to put our trust.
9- PAWS to LOVE-- Sometimes we take the ones we love the most for granted without even realizing it. I have a gift of loving and encouraging others, yet I learned that my eldest son didn't feel loved by me. Thankfully, God opened my eyes and my heart to give him the love in the way he needed to be shown love, not in the way I thought I should love him.
10- PAWS for BULLYING-- Sometimes our kids or loved ones are bullied and we may think we're doing everything we can, but they are not getting better, but only worse. One of our son's was nearly bullied to death in school, he had tried to commit suicide, and couldn't see any way out. Thankfully, God made us aware of this situation and he got the help he needed and now helps others who are bullied. What saved his life and kept him from killing himself? That rescue dog barking outside his door! Isn't God good?
11- PAWS for Abuse-- Sometimes abuse is all we know, so we live in a cycle of abuse and even abuse others. That was the story of my life, I was a victim of childhood sexual abuse (repeatedly until I ran away at 13), school bullying and being the bully, dating violence, emotional abuse, and entered two horrifically abusive marriages. At the age of 26, God totally delivered me from it all,
12- PAWS for Fear-- Sometimes we will face fears, other times fears can control our lives. That was me. Due to the abuse, bullying and violence I had suffered through the age of 26, I had severe PTSD which left me paralyzed. I didn't leave my house for over two years! My healingcame through Snickers that runaway abused dog I didn't want.
God knows the PAWS we need that will bring about our healing and deliverance. Mine was through a runaway, abused dog that I didn't want. I tried everything to get rid of him, but God kept bringing him back and showed me that I needed to adopt him. Sometimes the very things in life that we don't want, that seem like they are going to be the worst disasters are the biggest blessings!
This dog not only healed me, but he saved and delivered my entire family and so many others. Sadly, after nearly 14 years with us, Snickers had to be put down. My heart broke in two. But God has shown me that through these PAWS Snickers legacy of hope, healing and life will live on.
As you PAWS before God for your healing, just remember He works in ways we're sometimes opposed to in the beginning!
